Another sign: you are still spending what money you have on the latest training, tool and pre-launch but have yet to make any consistent money or even any money at all.  You tell yourself, “I’ll do it just as soon as I finish this course on how-to . . .

Truth hurts, but lack of progress and lack of money should hurt more.

What do I mean?  Uh, the one-two punch of marketing and advertising come to mind.  Have you written anything lately?  Are you making videos? Holding training webinars? Putting out articles and press releases?  Asking for the sale? Or more appropo, suggesting they check out your newsletter or email training series? BUILDING YOUR LIST !!! Placing ads on websites like Facebook, Google or Craigslist?

So get out of your comfort zone, get off your butt and take some ACTION.

As the cream rises to the top and we see a new batch of ‘gurus’ [cringing as I use that word], the newbies and not so newbies are missing the boat by focusing on the wrong things and going about this the wrong way by trying to emulate them when they don’t have the experience or clout to pull it off.

Sure, there’s a place for personal branding but  what I’m seeing is little egos trying to be big, while other people’s objectives seem to be a desire to become the latest reality internet star. If that’s what they want and they’re just wanting attention, so be it. But if your goal is to build a long term sustainable business, then pay attention.

I’ve heard people call this erroneous concept Ego Branding marketing, where, let’s face it, most of us are coming across as lame, desperate, corny Gong Show rejects.  It’s no wonder they’re not seeing duplication in their efforts and business – which from what I’ve seen, is a blessing in disguise.  The medium where this is most apparent is obviously video marketing.  By no means am I saying stay away from making a YouTube video for your business.  What I am suggesting is that you understand the role it plays in your business before you hit record.

This ego branding is directly conflicting with the concept of ATTRACTION MARKETING.  People come of as amateurish and NOT COMPELLING at all.  Don’t get me wrong, stories are good and sharing yours is a part of the attraction process.  Letting people get a taste of who you are and what you are about is what the attraction marketing part is.  What most of this Ego Branding marketing is doing is REPELLING other people.  You could almost say, the way ego marketing is being implemented by most people is the exact opposite of Attraction Marketing.  Talk about self-sabotage of one’s business.

The goal is not to get EVERYONE in the world to follow you or join your tribe. You are only wanting those like minded souls you resonate with.  Once that’s accomplished, let them know what you have to offer in the form of information, training and support – AKA, ‘if you want to work with me, or find out more, click here.’

That’s where your ego steps aside and you let the duplicatable marketing funnel/machine take over – you know, the part that everyone can do. . . the Tools that we all use – autoresponders, capture pages, marketing copy etc.

So remember, the object is to find like minded people who are seeking out information and partners to grow and prosper with, not attempt to vainly entertain or impress with your talents or lack thereof.

Parting thought: Targeted info in front of targeted eyeballs = successful business. Loverage + Leverage = Freedom

Whether it’s positive life experiences or unpleasant experiences, we’re having one or the other.

You could think of yourself as one of the two ends of a magnet – the north or south pole.

Are you an optimistic happy person with thoughts of abundance and unlimited potential or are you someone who is a bit miserable and negative, cynical with a lack and limitation or victim outlook.  We can flip-flop back and forth at times depending on circumstances that occur in our life.

Which end of the spectrum you fit on depends on your upbringing, your life experiences and how you interpret them.  This is how your belief system is molded. What is the dialogue  going on in your head saying about things?

Most of us have been inundated with a lot of negative programming growing up. Things like no, don’t do that, you can’t be/do/have that, and so on.   We seek out courses, techniques  and experts to reverse and reprogram our minds to think in a better, more fulfilling way. We change our environment and the types of people we hang out with.

Some of the best advice is to follow your own path, discover and pursue your passions so you end up doing what you  love to do.  Finding out what your purpose in life is another version of this advice.  That to me can sound like pre-destiny if taken the wrong way. But when you discover your passions, your purpose should fall into place.  If it doesn’t feel like a fit, then you need to reassess what you think you are passionate about.

So many people – and this is a tragedy – don’t know what they want.  This is like sitting in the passenger seat of your own car and giving up your personal power to the whims of the world.  It’s said that if you don’t know what you want then you end up taking whatever comes along – and that is rarely a good match for you.  In fact, it’s a downright insult to your true self.

Free your mind of unlimiting thoughts and allow yourself to discover what it is that you want. You ARE allowed to change your mind if you decide to want something else down the road. Don’t worry that you might make a wrong choice or get stuck in something you decide later you don’t want.

For some of us, we have an enormous mental block that keeps them from discovering what we want.  It can literally keep us from having a coherent thought process. One cause of this dilemma is that deep down we have a belief that we don’t deserve it or don’t think we can realistically achieve it.

This goes back to faulty programming. If what you think is unobtainable, then  try starting with small achievements. Something as mundane and silly as deciding what you want to eat for lunch.  Not what you feel you SHOULD be eating, but allow yourself to have something you want to have. Sure it’s simple and doesn’t require a lot of thought or work, but the underlying principle is basically the same.  The bigger goal might require more action and thought and time, but it can be done.

“Why do 97% of people fail?”  OR the oppo-same phrase, “How to be part of the 3% who succeed.”

The other day I read an email from one of the many 3%ers that I subscribe to and in their email they say the following:

I don’t use “hype” or BS or “launches”
I think that crap is just an insult to
good people’s intelligence and it’s
a shell game approach to siphoning
as much money from people as fast
as you can and then dumping them
into some “forum” or support ticket site…

That’s not good energy.
It’s not a good way to build anything
long term…

If you are being pessimistic and skeptical you’ll probably think that this is a copy-pasted bit of psyhco-babble that is not an original thought by the current ‘author’. And you just may be right. But do you want to be right and be stuck and poor or do you want to read past the BS (yes they have used launches et al to get them to where they are today)?

If you stick around long enough in this business you begin to grow a BS filter that eventually has no negative emotional response.  You se it’s just how things have been done.  Raise your hands if you have been on the losing end of the ‘shell games’ mentioned above.  So if you have been burned before – probably more than once – then why are you still hanging around?

Do you have sucker stamped on your forehead or do you hope to pass the buck and  ’get yours’? Well, I have news for you.  If this is where your mind is at, you will always be stuck in the losing end because you are simply not vibrating at the desired frequency range. Put more simply, your mental state sucks.  And it will suck your bank account dry too.

I’ve found that if you are consistently doing the right actions and still aren’t succeeding yet, then it’s probably the conversation going on in your head [BELIEF SYSTEM] that is holding you back.  No amount of action will be able to overcome a screwed up lack-and-limitation mindset.

If this is YOU, my advice is to FULL STOP and take a break from being busy and stop avoiding the problem.  Spend as much uninterrupted time as you need to work on adjusting your frame of mind.  Visualization of your ideal life is a great place to start. Ignore the side of your brain that wants to shout, “but this is just a fantasy, not your life as it is now” and have fun.

Remember when you were a kid how effortless it was to play imagination? That’s what you need to do now.  Be like a child and remember your dreams if you have forgotten them. You start where you are now.

Be able to provide for yourself far above and beyond the bare minimum of surviving?

To be able to take care of your family and have the freedom and options to do the things you’ve wanted to do all of your life now that you are no longer limited by lack of time or money?

To be able to help out your friends, family and loved ones when they are struggling?

To be able to give more of yourself to the rest of the world, to causes that you  believe in, to people who need a helping hand?

To know that you are a powerful co-creator who can achieve any dream you come up with?

To live your life with purpose and meaning… to know that you are doing what you were meant to do?

If you find yourself struggling to make ends meet, then it’s high time to analyze your thinking and beliefs about yourself, the economy and the world in general. Watch the words you say and see if they are positive and uplifting, expanding or are they  negative, depressing and small minded?  The words you say are a direct reflection of the thoughts and beliefs in your head. These in turn dictate the action and choices you make or don’t make.  It starts with whats going on inside your head… and MORE IMPORTANTLY, your heart.

If you aren’t feeling the feelings you would like to  - satisfaction, joy, excitement, happiness – or maybe you aren’t in touch with your feelings at all and feel nothing – then it’s time to get back in touch with them for that is what is holding you back.

That’s why I wrote the ‘what ifs’ at the beginning of this post.  They are just a few of the thoughts you can hold in your mind and begin to FEEL what that sort of reality would be like (if it’s not already) and then you can begin to move in the direction of greater and greater happiness for such is the desire of every being on this planet.

It is natural to desire more and more and greater and greater happiness… What is NOT normal is to struggle needlessly and live in lack of abundance of goodness.  I am not saying that a lack of challenges is the way things should be. No, we need to be challenged to better ourselves.  But to constantly struggle and get nowhere is a misconception that has been programmed into a vast number of people’s consciousness by forces that would love nothing more than to see us suffer.  You can rise above that by starting with feeling and thinking love, good thoughts, positive expectations and so forth.  It starts NOW.

Be the shining light. The example others want to follow.  Don’t watch most TV that is mindless drivel designed to dumb you down and create a fearful mind.  Choose your friends wisely.  Those who you spend the most time with will affect what you think, do and say.

No matter what the past has been like for you, no matter what you used to believe and do and say, today is a NEW day. A chance to make a different choice. A better choice. A positive change to move you closer, not further from your beautiful life.

You need to understand the principle of  ’CONGRUENCY’ & how absolutely important it is in your marketing.

Sometimes I see people writing all these elaborate things to their list, trying to sell like crazy, inserting phrases or statements or action steps that DON’T really support effortless ‘no friction’ buying by their prospects, and all sorts of other stuff.

Well, in short… STOP DOING THAT!

You are wasting your time, and weakening your power to market.

Your job as marketers is to make it as EASY as possible on your prospects, and to guide them along EACH step of the way.

FRICTIONLESS, BRILLIANT, is the feel you want for your marketing processes.

Here’s an email that PERFECTLY primes my prospects to take the action I want them to take… which is WATCH THE VIDEO.
I’m  not asking them to buy, I’mnot selling them on the system…

I am ONLY leading them one step at a time.

The people who try to lead 5 steps at a time… are not as effective as those who know how to guide along EVERY step.

All we want our prospects to do here is WATCH the video… and it’s our job as marketers to prime them as much as possible to watch the video, but also be eager to buy what we’re offering.
